Following their impressive podium sweep at the Italian Short Track Championships, the Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team continued its dominant form with a one-two finish at Round 4 of the Internazionali d’Italia Series in Alpago, in the Belluno province. Under scorching sun and sweltering heat, it was European Champion Simone Avondetto who surged ahead, finishing just ahead of newly crowned Italian XCC Champion Juri Zanotti.

The two teammates made their move early, distancing their rivals within the first few laps. In the final stretch, Avondetto kicked again and crossed the line 14 seconds clear of Zanotti. Luca Braidot, battling 35°C heat and high humidity, finished 6th after a tough day on the bike.“It turned out to be a really tough race today,” admitted Avondetto.

“The course wasn’t easy, and the heat definitely took its toll. But I’m happy with how I rode — I felt good, and now I’ve got another week to keep building form ahead of the World Cup in Andorra (July 9–13).”

“It’s been a really positive weekend for me,” added Zanotti. “Today’s race was a great test as I prepare for the upcoming challenges, especially Andorra. Simone was the strongest out there and fully deserved the win, but I’m pleased with my own ride. Now I’ve got 10 days at home — a mix of rest and training to stay sharp for what’s next.”
