When it comes to mountain biking in Denmark, Sofie and Gustav Pedersen continue to set the standard. At the Danish National Championships in Frederiksværk, the two Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team riders once again proved themselves among the leading figures of Danish off-road cycling.

Sofie Pedersen successfully defended both her XCO and XCC national titles, repeating the double triumph she achieved last year. Gustav Pedersen, meanwhile, claimed his first-ever Elite XCO national title, having previously won the championship in the U23 category. He also added a valuable bronze medal in the XCC.
"Very good weekend of racing for me", said Sofie. "Was excited going into this weekend because Caroline Bohé and I have been racing very closely in the World Cups leading up to this. Its nice that we are so close and can push each other to get better! Luckily I found some really good climbing legs for a course with 160 meters of elevation per lap. Luckily I have also been doing heat training because we were racing in 37 degrees. Was a super hard race and I pushed myself to the limit. Super happy to defend both my titles".

“Standing on the top step of the podium at the National Championships again, this time in the Elite category, feels particularly special,” said Gustav. “After my recovery period, I’m starting to find my rhythm again, and this victory confirms that we’re heading in the right direction. It’s a result that gives me a lot of confidence ahead of the next World Cup round in the Aosta Valley.”
