The World Cup is set to enter its second round of the season, and naturally the Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team will once again be among the teams to watch. Nové Město na Moravě (May 22–24) is one of the most historic and iconic venues on the cross-country calendar, and it also brings back plenty of great memories for the Italian squad.

The course in Nové Město is famous for its flowing trails through the pine forests, combined with compact and technical terrain, as well as several spectacular viewing points that allow fans to get incredibly close to the action. One of the highlights is the steep climb in the middle of the lap, traditionally a key point where explosive riders tend to make the difference, driven on by packed crowds of passionate spectators. Special attention will once again be on the spectacular rock drop section, one of the most iconic features of the entire circuit.

For Round 2, Wilier-Vittoria will once again line up with its full roster. XCO World silver medallist Simone Avondetto, fresh from his first-ever World Cup podium in Korea, and Italian champion Luca Braidot will lead the team in the elite men’s race as usual. They will be joined by Italian XCC champion Juri Zanotti, while Sofie Heby Pedersen, winner last weekend in Courmayeur, will represent the team in the elite women’s race.
In the U23 categories, expectations are high for Gustav Heby Pedersen, who won the XCC here last season, and Elian Paccagnella in the men’s field, while Canada’s Ella MacPhee, winner of the XCO in 2025, will be aiming for another strong result in the women’s race.
