It was total domination for the Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team in Chies d’Alpago. Ahead of Round 4 of the Internazionali d’Italia Series, the weekend kicked off with a thrilling preview: the Italian National Short Track Championships. Leading the charge was Juri Zanotti, who launched a solo attack early in the race and never looked back, earning the coveted Tricolore jersey that he’ll proudly wear in XCC events for the next 12 months.

The win marks Zanotti’s first victory in Wilier-Vittoria colours, and he was joined on the podium by teammates Luca Braidot — racing in the kit of the GS Fiamme Oro Police team — and Simone Avondetto, who finished second and third respectively. The pair executed perfect team tactics, allowing Zanotti to break away early while they controlled the chase and then battled it out for the remaining podium spots on the final lap.
“Honestly, it was a tougher race than we expected, but we pulled off a podium sweep, so it couldn’t have gone better,” said Zanotti. “I made my move at the right moment, with Simone up front and Luca covering behind. They managed things perfectly, and I opened up a gap on the rest. I rode solo for a few laps, just enough to build the margin I needed to hold on during the final climbs. We’re really happy, and now I can’t wait to wear the Tricolore jersey at the next World Cup short track.”

The three Wilier-Vittoria musketeers will also be back in action tomorrow for the Internazionali d’Italia Series round, adding more race intensity to their legs ahead of the next World Cup stop in Andorra (July 9–13). As for the Italian XCO Championships, those are set to take place in Tabiano Terme (Parma) over the weekend of July 18–20.
