He had already won it in 2022 and reclaimed it this weekend after a year's break. Cameron Orr has captured the British national XCO title, dominating his race from start to finish and bringing another special jersey to the Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team, which the English athlete will wear for the next 12 months.
On the Dalby Forest course, Cameron Orr, who had already won the Santoporo stage of the Internazionali d’Italia Series and the Fowey stage of the British XC Series this year, managed to decisively distance all his competitors, finishing 3’10” ahead of Thomas Mein and 4’59” ahead of Ben Wadey.
"It's always great to race on this iconic course, which has also hosted the World Cup in the past," said Orr. "I was very keen to do well at the British National Championships and I gave everything to reclaim this title that I couldn't win in 2023. It will be a privilege to wear this jersey and these colors for the next 12 months."
On Saturday, Orr finished second in the short track event, being narrowly beaten in the final sprint by Max Greensill.
